Account

Click "Join for free" at the top of the page or directly on the homepage. You'll be asked for your first name, email address, a password and some basic personal details. You'll then receive a confirmation email. Once confirmed, you can complete your profile with photos and additional information to get better matches.
You can permanently delete your account at any time. Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. After confirmation, all your data — including profile information, messages and photos — will be irreversibly deleted. In accordance with our privacy policy, data is fully removed from our systems within 30 days.
No problem! Click "Forgot password" on the login page. Enter the email address you registered with. You'll receive an email within a few minutes containing a secure link to reset your password. Please also check your spam folder if the email doesn't arrive.
Go to Settings > Personal Details > Change Email. Enter your new email address and confirm the change with your current password. A confirmation email will be sent to your new address. The change only takes effect once you click the confirmation link. If you have any trouble, contact our support: Contact.

Messages

Your profile may not be fully verified yet. Make sure you've confirmed your email address and completed your profile with at least one photo and a description. New accounts may also have a brief activation period. If you're still having trouble, contact our support team.
Open the member's profile and tap the three-dot menu (⋯) or "Options". Select "Block". Once blocked, neither you nor the blocked person can send messages or view each other's profile. The blocked person won't be notified. You can view and unblock members under Settings > Blocked Profiles at any time.
No, all messages are stored in your inbox until you manually delete them. You can delete individual messages or entire conversations by tapping the conversation in the Messages section and selecting "Delete conversation". Please note: if you delete your account, all messages will be permanently removed as well.

Safety

Watch out for these warning signs: very generic or overly perfect profile photos (try a reverse image search), quick and exaggerated declarations of love after only a short acquaintance, evasiveness about personal questions, refusal to video call, requests for money or gift cards, and pressure to move the conversation to external platforms. Read our Safety Tips for more information.
Never share bank details, credit card numbers, copies of your ID or other sensitive personal documents via the platform or with someone you met online. Genuine members will never ask for such information. If someone does ask, stop contact immediately and report the profile using our report feature.
Block the person immediately and report their profile via our report page. Our team reviews all reports within 24 hours. For serious threats or criminal matters, please also contact the police. Keep all messages as evidence before blocking the contact.

Subscription

Yes, the core features of Herzklopfen — creating a profile, browsing profiles, giving likes and sending a limited number of messages — are permanently free. For unlimited messages, advanced search and filter options and further premium features, we offer an optional Premium subscription. No credit card is required for the free features.
You can cancel your Premium subscription at any time. Go to Settings > Subscription > Cancel. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep all Premium features until the end of the paid term. For cancellation issues or refund requests, please contact our support team.
With a free account you can browse profiles, give likes and send a limited number of messages per day. With Premium you get unlimited messages, access to advanced search filters (e.g. by interests or distance), see who visited your profile and appear higher in search results. You can subscribe to Premium monthly, quarterly or annually at any time.

Technical

First try reloading the page (Ctrl+F5 or Cmd+Shift+R) and clearing your browser cache. Temporarily disable browser extensions (especially ad blockers), as these can sometimes cause issues. Make sure you're using an up-to-date browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari). If the problem persists, contact our support team with your browser type.
Please make sure your photo meets these requirements: maximum file size 10 MB, format JPG, PNG or WEBP, minimum resolution 200×200 pixels. Photos with explicit content are automatically rejected. If the problem persists, try a different browser or device. If it still doesn't work, contact our support team.
You can switch language at any time using the language bar at the top of every page — just click "DE" for German or "EN" for English. Your language preference is saved in a cookie and automatically loaded on your next visit. The setting can also be changed under Settings > Language.
